About the event
From March 13 to 15, Irina Viner Palace will host international fencing competitions Moscow Sabre 2026 in memory of two-time Olympic champion Mikhail Burtsev, organized by Moscow City Department of Sports together with Russian Fencing Federation.
Moscow Sabre will take place for the 49th time. This year, the competition will feature not only Russia’s strongest sabre fencers, but also athletes from other countries — more than 100 athletes will compete for medals.
Russia will be represented by the national team’s leaders, Olympic, world and European champions Sofya Velikaya, Yana Egoryan and Olga Nikitina, world and European champions Kamil Ibragimov and Dmitry Danilenko, and young stars including European Championship bronze medalist and European Junior Championship winner Pavel Graudyn, world and European Junior champion Aleksandra Mikhailova, and world Cadet Championship medalist Iaroslav Borisov and others.
The tournament program includes individual and team competitions in men’s and women’s sabre fencing.
